Most garage doors, when properly adjusted and lubricated, will be reasonably quiet. Some doors and openers are inherently noisy, such as non-insulated steel doors with steel rollers, and screw drive openers…. especially when they have not been lubricated in a while.
To have a quieter garage door you need to have three things:
- A good insulated door;
- Nylon coated ball bearing rollers;
- General maintenance completed on the system once in a while
To have an ultra-quiet system, you need to have the three above, plus;
- A 2-speed belt drive opener
